The injuries may occur in a variety of situations, such as an isolated knee injury in an athlete or as part of a muhisystem-injured trauma patient. In most cases,pain in the knee, a large knee effusion, swelling of the effected limb and skin ecchymosis are the only signs and symptoms of a knee dislocation.
