| Abstract: | The paper reports 104 cases of patent ductus arteriosus treated surgically from 1959 to 1985, at the First Affiliated Hospital. There were 79 females and 25 males, with age ranging 4 to 32 years. Surgery consisted of division and suture of ductus in 13 cases, and ligation of ductus in 91 cases. There was no mortality. Preservation and control technique of hemorrhage during operation were discussed. The outhors believe that ligation of ductus with dacron roll is not only safe and effective but simple and easy as well. |
