Abstract: | The concentrations of Zn, Mn, Al, Cd, Fe, Cu, Pb, Ni, Ti, Co, Li, Cr in serum and change of T lymphocyte subsets and its proliferative response in peripheral blood, and the level of immunoglobulin(Ig) were measured in 92 children with recurrent respiratory tract infections(RRTI). The mean of serum Zn, Fe, Pb, Ni, Ti, Co, Li was decreased and deficiency of Zn, Fe,Li,Co was common in every ages group. There were obvious decrease in T lymphocyte proliferation response, percentage of CD3+ and CD4+ cell, ratio of CD4+/CD8+ and increase in percentage of CD8+ cell in children with RRTI. There was a significant correlation between indicatrixes of immunofunctions and serum Fe, Zn, Cr, Ni. The result suggests that RRTI not only injures the function of immunity, but also has many kinds of trace elements deficiency or imbalance in children. There may be a causal relation amang serum trace elements deficiency ,immunodeficiency and RRTI. Replenishing trace elements(Fe, Zn, etc.) is important in preventing children from the attack of RRTI. |
