Safety Assurance for Manned Spaceflight

Safety assurance of the crew is one of the most important objectivefunctions for manned spaceflight.Not only the life of crew members and economic prob-lems must be considered,but the public impact of a disastrous accident that would affectthe live and development of the manned program itself should also be concerned.Safetyassurance is also an in-line function through out the whose process of design,develop-ment,and operations of manned spacecraft.Safety assurance strategy must be consi-dered from the viewpoint of systems engineering involving the overall system including:(1)crewhuman factor;(2)spacecraft,launch vehicle,ground launch,control,com-munication and landing facilities;(3)environment and(4)operating process which con-sists of launching and dynamic flight,orbital operation,reentry and landing.
