| Abstract: | We describe a 15-month-old girl with Michelin tyre syndrome. She had hirsuties and marked skin folds. Histological examination showed fragmented elastic fibres in addition to smooth muscle hamartoma. On electron microscopy, decreased deposition of elastin was observed. We speculate that elastic fibre abnormafities may account for the characteristic skin changes in the Michelin tyre syndrome. |
