Die Behandlung der unstabilen Wirbelfrakturen und Luxationen mit dem modifizierten HARRINGTON-Instrumentarium

Zusammenfassung Wirbelbrüche und Wirbelverrenkungen mit L?hmungen müssen sofort repoinert und — wenn m?glich — stabil fixiert werden. Damit werden die Voraussetzungen für die Erholung des Rükkenmarkes und der Nervenwurzeln geschaffen. Die Pflege und die Rehabilitation des Patienten werden so in hohem Ma?e erleichtert. Die Autoren haben ein originelles bewegungs-und belastungsstabiles Osteosynthese-Verfahren ausgearbeitet, das auf dem Zuggurtungsprinzip basiert. Es handelt sich um ein modifiziertes Distraktionsinstrumentarium nach HARRINGTON. Dieses wurde umgekehrt und kann im Sinne der Kompression benützt werden. Das Instrumentarium wurde für die Halswirbels?ule und für die Lendenwirbels?ule adaptiert. Die Ergebnisse der Methoden werden auf Grund einer Statistik von 40 F?llen analysiert.

The treatment of unstable vertebral fractures and luxations by modified instrumentation after HARRINGTON

Summary Vertebral fractures and luxations with paralysis have to be repositioned immediately and — if necessary — solidly fixed, a measure by which the basis is created for a recovery of the spinal cord as well as of the nervous roots. So, the care and the rehabilitation of the patient are facilitated to a high extent. An original osteosynthesis procedure, which is stable in regard to movement and burdening has been developed by the authors basing on the principle of a tension belt. The method in question is a modified distraction instrumentation after HARRINGTON which has been changed and can now be used in the sense of a compression. The instrumentation has been adapted to the cervical spinal column and the lumbar spinal column. The results of the methods are analyzed subject to a statistic comprising 40 cases.

Le traitement des fractures et des luxations instables de la colonne vertébrale par la méthode d’HARRINGTON modifiée

Résumé Les fractures et les luxations de vertèbres doivent être réduites et — si possible — immobilisées. C’est ainsi que l’on parviendra aux conditions nécessaires pour la récupération de la moelle et des racines nerveuses. De cette fa?on les soins et la convalescence du malade seront considérablement facilités. Les auteurs ont trouvé une méthode spéciale d’ostéosynthèse basée sur une modification de l’appareil de traction d’après HARRINGTON. L’application en a été inversée pour permettre une utilisation en compression. L’appareil a été adapté pour une utilisation dans les parties cervicale et lombaire de la colonne vertébrale. Les auteurs discutent les résultats des deux méthodes à partir d’une statistique de 40 cas.
