The Effect of Screening of Group B Streptococcus in the Third Trimester of Pregnancy on the Prevention of Early-onset Neonatal Infection

Objective To explore the value of Group B streptococcus(GBS)screening in the prevention of Neonatal early-onset infection and to provide evidence for reducing the rate of neonatal early-onset infection.Methods From May 2019 to May 2020,this study included 200 cases of late pregnancy(35~37 weeks)in our hospital,the patients were divided into GBS screening intervention group(GBS screening and Treatment Intervention Group)and non-screening Group(GBS non-screening Group),each group was 100 cases,the incidence and severity of Neonatal Septicemia,preterm birth and premature rupture of membranes were analyzed in two groups.Results The positive rate was 15.00%(15/100)in GBS screening intervention group,the incidence of neonatal septicemia in GBS screening intervention group was 1.00%,which was less than 9.00%in the non-screening intervention group,and the condition of patients in GBS screening intervention group was milder,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The overall incidence of preterm birth and premature rupture of membranes in the GBS screening intervention group was 3.00%,which was lower than that in the non-screening group 11.00%(P<0.05).Conclusion Pay attention to group B streptococcus screening and intervention in late pregnancy,can better prevent neonatal early-onset infection,reduce the incidence of neonatal earlyonset infection,to prevent preterm birth,premature rupture of membranes and other issues are of great value.
