Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation of neuropeptide Y(NPY) and calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP) in intercerebral hematoma with pathologic change of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. Methods The Levels of NPY and CGRP in hematoma and plasma were measured by radioimmunoassay in 30 cases of patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. Results Compared with the control group, the levels of NPY and CGRP in hematoma and plasma of patients increased significantly. Compared with the non continuing hemorrhagic group, the levels of NPY and CGRP in hematoma of continuing hemorrhage increased signifircantly. The levels of plasma decreased after operation. Conclusion The substances of NPY and CGRP are the major causes of continuing hemorrhage, hematoma enlargement and brain edema.
Keywords:Neuropeptide Y(NPY)  Calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP)  Hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage  Intercerebral hematoma
