RETROPE.RITONEAL EXTENSION TYPE ACUTE NECROTIC PANCREATITIS

The authors propose the name retroperitoneal extension type of acute necrotic pancreatitis for the condition in which a large amount of exudate containing enzymes flows into the retroperitoneal space. As illustrations the authors report 3 cases of this type in this paper.Early surgical treatment is emphasized and described in detail. In order to differentiate the clinical picture, 38 cases of necrotic pan- creatitis and 27 0f hemorrhagic pancreatitis are compared.
