Abstract: | Intracavernosal self-injection of smooth muscle relaxants, primarily papaverine admixed with phentolamine, have been used to treat impotence in over 300 patients. The program is effective in a large fraction of this group. Selection of patients, adjustment of dose, methods for monitoring, clinical efficacy, and complications are discussed. |
