| Abstract: | Twenty nine cases of PNH were admitted in our hospital from July 1957 to January 1985. Among these,23 are males and 6 females,with a ratio of 3.8:1. The onset of the disease in 26 cases occurred between 20-40 years of age. 28 cases presented but one patient denied history of hemoglobinuria. Other symptoms are headache,general malaise,palpitation, dyspnea,and symptoms of anemia. Ham's test was positive in 28 cases and the only one negative case had a positive urine he-mosiderin test. 6 cases were misdiagnosed as aplastic anemia because of the presence of pancytopenia on admission. Treatment was mainly supportive. |
