Management of complications in laparoscopic urological surgery

As laparoscopic urological surgery （LUS） has been widely applied, more complex procedures are increasingly tackled laparoscopically, and the incidence and severity of complications have increased progressively. Laparoscopic complica- tions can arise in many areas, including anesthesia, insertion / removal of trocars, intraoperative procedures and closing of the incisions. Thus, skillful surgical technique, abundant surgeon experience, and a high degree of suspicion are necessary through- out laparoscopic surgery. Moreover, as laparoscopic surgeries in urology involve more and more technique-dependent difficult fields, the recognition, prevention and management of complications are mandatory and important for the development of this surgical modality.
