Epigenetics and breast cancer

Epigenetics is abnormal gene expression without primary DNA sequence change,and is closely related with the development of cancer. It is reversible and inheritable, which mainly involves three interac-tional events-DNA methylation, histone modification and chromatin remodeling. In breast cancer, epigenetic regulation alters expression of some critical genes, inducing emergence and development of tumor. Studying of epigeneties brings profound effect to the occurrence, development, early diagnosis, prognosis assessment,treatment and monitoring recurrence of breast cancer.
