| Abstract: | The biologic effects of the water extract from the polyrhachis Vicina Roger aboutthe recovery of the immune function of the old mice and antisenility were studied.The microel ement contents in the ant-extract and the blood were studied and the immuneorgans of the mice after the injection of the agent was investigated. The results de-monstrate that the ant-extract is a broadspectrum immune potentiator. The degeneratedthymus proliferation and the function are recovered. The number of leucocytes increasedand phagocytose function of macrophages enhanced. The content of lysozyme in blood,the amount of antibody produced by the cells in spleen, the level of specific antibody inblood and the absolute value of lymphocyte in blood, the percentage of Ea-RFC, Et-RFC, ANAE positive cells, and the content of DNA in the lymphocytes are all increased too. It is suggested that its biologic effects are all related to the grass body-antaldehyde, Mn, Se and Zn in the ants. |
