Abstract: | Abstract Earlier this year, a 14-year-old boy from Canton, Massachusetts was convicted for beating to death a fellow student. One defense psychiatrist at the trial, Dr. Bernard Yudowitz, argued that the documentary film Faces of Death had inspired Rod Matthews to commit this murder by swinging a wooden Louisville Slugger at Shaun Quillette at least three times. After watching the film, Matthews said the “he needed to see what it was like to kill someone,” commented Yudowitz. |
