| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the clinical effects of Chinese herbal medicine foot bath and enema in the treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy and decompensated chronic renal failure.Methods A total of 52 patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with decompensated chronic renal failure who were admitted to our hospital from January to October 2018 were enrolled.Participants were divided into control group and observation group according to table of random digit,26 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing measures,while those in observation group were treated with extra Chinese herbal medicine foot bath and enema beside routine care.The total clinical treatment efficiency,quality of life before and after treatment,and kidney functions were compared between two groups.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the assessment of quality of life and renal functions between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the quality of life scores in observation group was higher than that in control group,and the renal functions in observation group was better than that in control group (P<0.05);there was significant difference of total clinical treatment efficiency between observation group and control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Chinese herbal medicine foot bath combined with enema is effective in treatment of decompensated period of chronic diabetic nephropathy.It can improve the clinical symptoms and renal functions,making it worthy of wider application. |
