Abstract: | The pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of orbital varix and choice of its surgical treatment are described. Complete occlusion of abnormal portions of the superior ophthalmic vein with preserved blood flow along the main trunk is a specific feature of this observation. By analyzing the data available in the literature and their clinical observation of successful endovascular treatment for orbital varix with a complete regression of its clinical symptoms, the authors substantiate indications for transvenous orbital varix occlusion. |
