Abstract: | Relaxin-immunoreactivity was demonstrated in the cytoplasm in the luteal cells from pregnant and lactating opossums. Immunoreactivity for relaxin was not demonstrated elsewhere in the ovary, in the reproductive tract or in the placenta. The corpus luteum is thought to be the primary source of relaxin in Didelphis and in this regard is similar to several eutherian mammals including man. |
