| Abstract: | This paper reports 102 children with gluteus contracture in surgical treatment.Allthe patients had been given numerous injections into the buttocks,mainly with antibiotics andmost often administered penicillin diluted with phenmethanol solution for respiratory infections inthe childhood.According to the involvement of muscle or muscle group and clinical features,caseswere divided into three types :gluteus maximus contracture type,the combined gluteus maximusand gluteus medius contractare type,and gluteus medius contracture type. 95 cases were followedup for a mean period of 26 months with excellent and good results in 78(82%).The mechanism ofabnormality and the experience in the diagnosis and treatment are discussed. |
