Abstract:Two hundred and twenty nine cases of breast cancer diagnosed and treated in CMC, Ludhiana were studied for their clinical details, histological features and followed up. Various factors have an effect on the prognosis. The relationship between various clinicopathological features and prognosis were evaluated. The good prognostic factors in this study were middle age, small size of the tumour, low histological grade with marked lymphocytic infiltrate around the tumour, and sinus histiocytosis and no tumour metastasis in axillary lymph nodes. Pregnancy, lactation, younger age, large size, high grade tumour, skin invasion, and increased number of metastatic axillary lymph nodes were associated with significantly poor prognosis.
