The development of five-level triage system

Summary Triage is the initial clinical assessment process that prioritizes patients diagnosis and treatment so as to ensure the patients＇ security and promote the rational utilization of the medical resources in the department. It is necessary to establish a fast and convenient triage system or scale to evaluate the patients standardized and guarantee the quality of emergency care. In order to provide reference to the standardization of the triage system in China,the establishment,triage assessment,advantage and disadvantage of different five level triage systems using for patient assessment in the emergency department in different counties and regions were compared since the five-level triage systems were paid more attention recently.
