Abstract: | In experiments on dogs the ATP concentration fell (by 38%) and the ADP and AMP concentrations rose by 121 and 875%, respectively, in the cortical gray matter in the preagonal period after hypovolemic hypotension for 4 h. Reflecting these changes, the energy potential fell from 0.931 to 0.736 (P<0.05). In the early and late postresuscitation period the concentrations of these metabolites and the level of the energy potential were the same as initially.Laboratory of General Resuscitation, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Moscow.
