Abstract:The circadian clock gene regulates the circadian rhythm of mammals.As one of its core components,the Bmal1 gene is related to various biological behavioural activities.The role of this gene in bone metabolism has received increasing attention.The Bmal1 gene could be involved in the regulation of the physiological activities of osteoblasts,osteoclasts and chondrocytes related to bone metabolism through the downstream signalling pathways.These phenomena affect bone metabolism-related diseases,such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.The Bmal1 gene simultaneously plays a role in the physiological and pathological processes of the jaw.In this article,the development in the study of the Bmal1 gene regulating the physiology and pathology of bone tissue is reviewed.The results provide possible concepts for the treatment of oral and systemic bone metabolism-related diseases.
