Effect of muscle strength strengthening training on knee function in patients with knee osteoarthritis after knee arthroscopy

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of muscle strength strengthening training in patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA) after knee arthroscopy, and to analyze its influence on knee function. Methods A total of 86 patients with KOA who underwent knee arthroscopy in our hospital from December 2018 to December 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to the different of postoperative rehabilitation scheme, the patients were divided into control group and observation group, with 43 cases in each group. The control group received routine rehabilitation training after operation, and the observation group received muscle strength strengthening training on the basis of the control group. The postoperative rehabilitation effects of the two groups were evaluated by osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)evaluation scale, Lysholm knee evaluation scale, TUGT test time and HSS knee function classification. Results On the first day and 1 month after operation, there were no significant differences between the two groups in the WOMAC,Lysholm knee scores, TUGT time and HSS knee function classification(P>0.05). At 3 and 6 months after operation, the WOMAC score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, the Lysholm knee score was significantly higher than that of the control group, the TUGT time was significantly shorter than that of the control group, and the knee function classification of HSS was significantly better than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). At 3 and 6 months after operation, the recurrence rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Conclusion Muscle strength strengthening training in the rehabilitation stage of KOA patients after knee arthroscopy can significantly improve the symptoms of arthritis and walking ability, and promote the recovery of knee function after operation. It is an effective rehabilitation scheme.
