The value of head and neck CT angiography in the early diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke

Objective To analyze the application value of head and neck non-traumatic vascular imaging technology(CT angiography,CTA)in the diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis for the early diagnosis of acute ischemic brain stroke.Methods 50 patients with acute ischemic stroke suspected of carotid stenosis treated in Ningjin County People's Hospital from May 2020 to May 2021 were selected,compare the results of head and neck examined by digital subtraction angiography(DSA),analysis of the two kinds of carotid stenosis detection rate,diagnostic specificity,sensitivity,accuracy,contrast prevalence of carotid stenosis positive acute ischemic brain stroke.Results There were 42 patients with acute ischemic brain stroke with carotid artery stenosis,which examined by DSA.The total detection rate of carotid stenosis on head and neck CTA scan was higher than that on neck color Doppler ultrasound,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),The sensitivity,accuracy and specificity of CTA in the diagnosis of head and neck were significantly higher than those of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of neck vessels(P<0.05).40 CTA scan patients were positive for carotid artery stenosis,among them,the prevalence of patients with acute ischemic brain stroke was 97.50%.Conclusion Head and neck CTA scanning can realize the exact diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke carotid artery stenosis,patients with positive carotid stenosis have a high prevalence of acute ischemic stroke.Therefore,head and neck CTA scanning can be an early diagnosis prediction method of acute ischemic stroke,and head and neck CTA scanning patients with positive carotid stenosis can reduce the incidence of clinical acute ischemic stroke.
