Comparison the application effect of fixed denture repair and occlusal pad removable partial denture repair in severe tooth wear with dentition defect

Objective To compare the application effect of fixed denture repair and occlusal pad removable partial denture repair in severe tooth wear with dentition defect.Methods A total of 52 patients with severe tooth wear and dentition defect admitted in our department from June 2015 to June 2020 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into control group(26 cases)and observation group(26 cases).The patients in the control group were treated with occlusal pad removable partial denture repair,and the patients in the observation group were treated with fixed denture repair.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The excellent and good rate of repair in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Six months after repair,the masticatory function score of the two groups increased,and that of the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Six months after repair,the scores of satisfaction in the two groups were significantly increased compared with those before repair,and those in the observation group were higher than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Six months after repair,the TMJ function of the two groups improved(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Six months after repair,the scores of PES,GOHAI and WHOQOL-100 in the two groups increased,while the score of OHIP-14 decreased,and those in the observation group were better than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application effect of fixed denture repair in severe tooth wear with dentition defect is more significant than occlusal pad removable partial denture repair.It can better improve patients'masticatory function and temporomandibular joint function,improve patients'satisfaction,aesthetics and quality of life,and reduce the degree of oral influence and the incidence of adverse reactions,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
