Clinical application of platelet-rich plasma in diabetic foot ulcers

Objective To explore the application effect of platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer.Methods A total of 40 patients with Wagner grade 2~4 diabetic foot ulcers admitted to our hospital from August 2020 to August 2021 were selected.They were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment schemes.The two groups were treated with routine debridement.On this basis,the control group (n=18) was treated with vacuum sealing drainage.The observation group (n=22) covered the wound with platelet-rich plasma gel and then vacuum sealing drainage.The ulcer wound healing and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in wound healing rate between Wagner grade 2 patients in the observation group and the control group (P>0.05),but the wound healing rate of Wagner grade 3 and 4 patients in the observation group were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05).The scores of pruritus,pain,bacterial clearance,granulation tissue coverage and granulation tissue growth thickness in the observation group were significantly better than the control group,and the wound healing time was significantly shorter than the control group (P<0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment,the score of quality of life in the observation group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Platelet-rich plasma has a definite effect on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer,which can not only significantly improve the wound repair effect,shorten the wound healing time,but also relieve itching and pain,especially for Wagner Grade 3 and 4 diabetic foot,which is worthy of promotion and application.
