Meta-analysis of traditional Chinese medicine decoction in the treatment of perivestibular vertigo

Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine decoction in the treatment of perivestibular vertigo.Methods The randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of traditional Chinese medicine decoction in the treatment of peripheral vertigo published from PubMed,China journal full text database(CNKI),Wanfang database,VIP database and China biomedical literature database(CBM) were searched from the self-built databases to May 2021.The quality of the included literatures was evaluated and Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.3 software.Results A total of 1 073 patients were included in 14 studies,which were divided into two subgroups as traditional Chinese medicine decoction + conventional Western medicine vs.conventional Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine decoction vs.conventional Western medicine.The results showed that the treatment group were better than the control group in the total effective rate,TCM syndrome score and DHI score,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine decoction is effective in the treatment of peripheral vertigo,but there are some deficiencies in this study.It still needs to be verified by larger samples and high-quality multicenter RCTs.
