Treatment of Chronic Subdural Hematoma by Borehole Drainage and Small Bone Window Craniotomy for Hematoma Removal

Objective To explore the clinical effect of borehole drainage and small bone window craniotomy for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma.Methods Retrospective analysis in July 2017 to May 2020 in borehole drainage with small bone window craniotomy for removal of hematoma in patients with chronic subdural hematoma in patients with the clinical data of 62 cases,accorded to different operative methods were divided into control group(borehole drainage of 31 cases)and the observation group(small bone window craniotomy hematoma removal of 31 cases),observed two groups of clinical curative effect,operation situation and situation of the postoperative complications and recurrence were followed up for 3 months.Results The total effective rate of the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The incision length in the observation group was longer than control group,and the amount of intraoperative blood loss and operation time were higher than control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The length of hospital stay in the two groups was not statistically significant difference(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Follow-up for 3 months showed that the recurrence rate in the observation group was lower than control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of borehole drainage and small bone window craniotomy for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma is similar,but the complication of small bone window craniotomy for the removal of hematoma is less,the postoperative recurrence rate is lower.
