Application effect of artificial nose in patients with oral cancer after tracheotomy

Objective To investigate the application effect of artificial nose in patients with oral cancer after tracheotomy.Methods A total of 70 patients with oral cancer after tracheotomy in our hospital from May 2019 to May 2020 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 35 cases in each group.The observation group was humidified with artificial nose,and the control group was humidified with ordinary sterile gauze.Except that the artificial nose nursing was only implemented in the observation group,other nursing(psychological nursing,basic nursing,dietary nursing and medication nursing)were implemented in the both groups.The insufficient or excessive humidification,positive sputum culture,pulmonary infection situation,sputum viscosity,comfort and irritating cough situation,oxygen saturation and nursing time were compared between the two groups.Results The proportions of patients with insufficient or excessive humidification,positive sputum culture and pulmonary infection in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The sputum viscosity of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The proportion of patients with comfort and oxygen saturation in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the proportion of patients with irritating cough was lower than that in the control group,the nursing time was shorter than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Artificial nose used in patients with oral cancer after tracheotomy can reduce the occurrence of insufficient or excessive humidification,positive sputum culture and pulmonary infection,ameliorate sputum viscosity,improve comfort and oxygen saturation,reduce the irritating cough and shorten the nursing time,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
