Gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma: Clinical analysis of 10 cases

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma.Methods:The clinical data of 10 cases of gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma treated in the Department of Gynecology of the our hospital from May 2018 to November 2020 were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Among the 10 patients, there were 5 at stage Ⅰ,2 at stage Ⅱ and 3 at stage Ⅲ at the first visit, however, up to 90% of the patients were upgraded to stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ due to lymphatic or distant metastasis after surgery.Simple gastric adenocarcinoma in 7 cases, simple micropartial adenocarcinoma in 1 case and mixed type in 2 cases.4 cases of lesions invaded the entire layer of the cervix, 5 cases invaded the middle and deep 1/3 of the cervical interstitium, 4 cases extended to the uterine cavity.There were 9 cases with positive pelvic lymph nodes and 3 cases with ovarian metastasis.During the follow-up period from 4 to 20 months, 9 cases survived and 1 case died.Conclusion:The incidence of gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma is low, the symptoms are hidden, the tissue differentiation is good, the early diagnosis is difficult, the malignant degree is high, the invasion and metastasis are easy to occur, and it is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the postoperative recurrence rate is high, and the overall prognosis is poor.
