Observation on the Effect of Target-controlled Infusion of Remifentanil Combined with Propofol for the Analgesia of Enteroscopy

Objective] To observe the effect of target-controlled infusion（TCI） of remifentanil combined with propofol for the analgesia of enteroscopy. Methods]Forty patients with ASAⅠ-Ⅱ scheduled for enteroscopy were randomly allocated into two groups（ n =20）. The patients in group RP received TCI of propofol 2.0μg/ml and remifentanil 3.0ng/ml. The patients in group P received single TCI of propofol 4.0μg/ml. No preoperative medication was performed in two groups. After routine monitoring, plasma TCI was performed. Endoscope was operated when the effect-site concentration came up to the preconcerted value. Mean blood pressure（MAP）, heart rate（HR） and SpO2 were observed and recorded before and after enterscopy. The incidence of complications, the time of postoperative recovery, accurate location time and visual analgesia seore（VAS） were also recorded and compared among groups. Results] The rangeability of MAP in group RP was significantly lower than that in group P, and there was significant difference（ P〈0.05）. The incidence of ventilatory support in group RP and group P were 15 % （3/20） and 5 % （1/20）, respectively（ P 〈0.05）. The incidence of body movement during surgery in group RP and group P were 5 % （1/20） and 35 % （7/20）, respectively（ P 〈0. 05）. The average VAS in group RP and group P were 2.1±1.1 and 3.2±1.0, respectively（ P 〈0.05）. Conclusion] TCI of remifentanil combined with propofol can provide a suitable analgesic effect for enteroscopy. Respiration and airway management should be paid attention at the same time.
