Abstract:In recent years,changes in tumor epigenetics have become attractive targets for cancer treatment and prevention,and the most common and widespread epigenetic pathway is DNA methylation.Studies have found that glutathione peroxidase 3(glutathione peroxidase 3,GPX3)acts as a selenoprotein with antiviral and diverse tumors in vivo,GPX3 mRNA and or down-regulation or even silencing of protein expression is associated with hypermethylation of the GPX3 gene promoter,and down-regulation of GPX3 expression after DNA methylation can reduce the clearance of peroxidation products in the body,which in turn leads to accumulation of peroxide in the body,eventually causing the occurrence and development of tumors.
