| Abstract: | A case of bilateral vocal cord paralysis following anterior cervical fusion is described. Although previously documented, this complication does not appear to be widely recognised. An outline for the pathogenesis is suggested. Immediate postoperative vocal cord inspection by the anaesthetist is advocated. |
