| Abstract: | Iron (Fe) concentrations in liver and kidney of cadmium (Cd)-exposed people (11 Itai-Itai patients, 13 persons requiring observation and 4 Cd-exposed persons) were compared with those of nonexposed people. No significant difference in Fe levels in liver was observed between the groups. This fact indicates that anaemia in environmentally Cd-exposed people was not due to iron deficiency in contrast to findings in animal experiments. |
