Clinical efficacy and safety of escitalopram and venlafaxine in the treatment of senile anxiety

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of escitalopram and venlafaxine in the treatment of senile anxiety.Methods From January 2017 to January 2019,86 patients with senile anxiety were enrolled in our hospital.According to the random number table,they were divided into group A and group B,with 43 cases in each group.The group A was treated with escitalopram and group B was treated with venlafaxine.The clinical efficacy,HAMA score and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in clinical efficacy between the two groups.Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in HAMA scores between the two groups.After treatment,the HAMA scores in both groups were lower than before treatment.The HAMA score of group A was lower than group B at 1,2,and 3 weeks after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in group A was lower than that in group B,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Escitalopram and venlafaxine were treated with senile anxiety patients,and the effects were equivalent.However,escitalopram has fast effect,low incidence of adverse reactions,and high safety,which is worthy of promotion.
