Abstract:Objective: To investigate the expressions of STAT4,Bax and c-myc in human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and normal lung tissues;and to study their relationship.Methods: Forty resected tissue samples form patients with NSCLC and twenty normal lung tissues were subjected to immunohistochemical staining(SP) for STAT4,Bax and c-myc.Results: ①The positive expression rate of STAT4 in NSCLC was obviously higher than in normal lung tissues(P〈0.01).②Expression of STAT4 in NSCLC was concerned with histological types,and the expression in adenocarcinoma was significantly higher than in squamous cell carcinoma(P〈0.01).③No relationship was found between STAT4 and Bax overexpression(P〉0.05).④No relationship was found between STAT4 and c-myc overexpression(P〉0.05).Conclusion:①STAT4 was overexpressed in human NSCLC and concerned with the histological types.It indicated that STAT4 might play a special role in occurrence and development of lung cancer.② No relationship was found between STAT4 and Bax or STAT4 and c-myc,indicating that STAT4 played its role in occurrence and development of NSCLC regardless of apoptosis and oncogene.
