Spontaneous and adenovirus type 12-induced chromosome aberrations in fanconi's anaemia fibroblasts

The spontaneous aberrations which occur in cells from patients with Fanconi's anaemia have been shown to be distributed in a random manner. Adenovirus type 12-induced chromosome aberrations are non-random in cells from patients with Fanconi's anaemia and there is a high degree of specificity for a site on the No. 17 chromosome, as is found in cytogenetically normal human cells. Although foci of infected cells were found in long-term Fanconi cultures there was no evidence of viral transformation.
