| Abstract: | Hydrolysis of monoglyceride by etherextracted homogenates of epididymal and ovarian fat from obese hyperglycemic mice and their nonobese litter mates was measured. Hydrolysis of monoglyceride, expressed as FFA released/g fat, was significantly less in the obese mice than in the litter mates. Hydrolysis of monoglyceride by “adipose” mice was not significantly different from that of their nonobese litter mates. The protein content of adipose tissue of obese mice was significantly greater than that of nonobese litter mates. |
