| Abstract: | The case of a male infant with congenital stridor, retardation of motor function due to muscular hypotonia and development of hydrocephalus is presented. MR imaging revealed a Chiari type I malformation. The hydrocephalus was successfully treated by endoscopic third ventriculostomy. The case illustrates the occasionally complex symptomatology and diagnostic challenges of Chiari type I malformation. |
