| Abstract: | Traumatic aortic valve rupture is a rare complication of nonpenetrating cardiac injury and can be caused by a tear or avulsion of the valve. The most common method of treatment has been valve replacement, although valve repair has been successful in a few cases of cusp tear or detachment. We report a case of aortic valve commissural avulsion in which a reparative technique was applied and the natural valve was preserved. |
