Statistical Investigation and Analysis of the Current Situation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Services in Chongqing

Objective To comprehend the current situation of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)service projects in Chongqing,and to provide references for formulating policies to accelerate the development of TCM.Methods The data were combed and analyzed by the combination of literature review,personnel interview and statistical investigation.Results In Chongqing,the development of TCM service projects was insufficient(it accounted from 4.13%to 8.73%);the income of TCM was low(30.67%on average and 17.72%on the lowest);the TCM service projects were few and the price was low(it accounted for 3.30%of the medical services and the average price was 22yuan),there was a shortage of TCM talents(the average number of TCM personnel in TCM hospitals surveyed accounted for 19.07%).Part of medical insurance was more restrictive to TCM medical service.The construction of medical informatization lags behind.Conclusion The system of TCM service projects in Chongqing is not perfect,the price is lower than the cost,TCM hospitals tend to be more westernized,and part of medical insurance policy provisions are not scientific.It is necessary to promote the inheritance of traditional Chinese Medicine and innovate high-quality development in terms of project system adjustment,price policy and adjustment mechanism establishment,medical insurance policy improvement and informatization construction promotion.
