The Mortality Spectrum of Malignant Tumors in Macau from 1988 to 1997

[Purpose]To investigate the mortality of leading malignant tumors in recent ten years in Macau.The aim is to pro vide information and evidence to Macau Government who will make new plan and policy for prevention and treatment of malignant tumors.[Metbode]All orginal materials concerning disease-induced death are from Gensus and Statistics Department(DSEC)and The Health Service of Macau,the mortality of ten leading malignant tumors from 1988to 1997 in Macau was analysed.[Result ]The second leading cause of death in Macau is malignant tumors,mortality was 78.27/100 000 population in 1997.The mortality of lung cancer was the No.l on malignant tumors in Macau,liver cancer and nasopharynx cancer was number two and three,the mortality were 18 .5/100 000,11. 1/100 000 and 6.5/100 000 respectively.[Conclusion]As indicated above results,the measure of prevention and treatment on malignant tumors should be turther strengthened,it includes of popular education about prevention from malignant himors,carly diagnosis and treatment .
