Analysis of cognitive function and its influencing factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Objective To analyze the cognitive function and its influencing factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Methods A total of 146 RA patients were included as RA group, and 60 healthy persons admitted to the hospital for physical examination during the same period was included as control group. The cognitive function of the RA group and the control group was compared. According to the MoCA score, RA patients were divided into mild cognitive impairment(MCI) group and normal group, the clinical data of the two groups were compared, and the risk factors affecting MCI in RA patients were analyzed. Results The language, orientation, delayed recall, attention, visual space and executive ability(VSEF) scores and MoCA total score in the control group were significantly higher than those in the RA group, while the incidence of MCI was significantly lower than that in the RA group(P<0.05). The results of binary Logistic regression analysis showed that cardiovascular disease, poor sleep quality, depression, and moderate to severe joint dysfunction were all independent risk factors for MCI in RA patients(P<0.05). Conclusion RA patients are often accompanied by MCI in language, orientation, delayed recall, attention and VSEF, especially for patients with cardiovascular disease, poor sleep quality, depression and moderate to severe joint disorders.
