Clinical effect of electrical stimulation combined with biofeedback in the treatment of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of electrical stimulation combined with biofeedback in the treatment of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction. Methods A total of 116 patients with postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction in our hospital from February 2018 to February 2020 were retrospectively selected. The patients were divided into pelvic floor muscle training group and combined treatment group according to the treatment method, with 58 cases in each group. The pelvic floor muscle training group was given pelvic floor muscle training, and the combined treatment group was given electrical stimulation combined with biofeedback based on pelvic floor muscle training. The classification of urinary incontinence, classification of pelvic floor muscle strength, degree of pelvic organ prolapse, clinical efficacy,occurrence of adverse reactions, quality of sexual life, quality of daily life scores and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the classification of urinary incontinence in the two groups was better than that before treatment, and that in the combined treatment group was better than the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the classification of pelvic floor muscle strength in the two groups was better than that before treatment, and that in the combined treatment group was better than the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the degree of pelvic organ prolapse in the two groups was better than that before treatment, and that in the combined treatment group was better than the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the combined treatment group was 91.38%, which was higher than 68.97% in the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of PISQ-12 and PFIQ-7 in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the combined treatment group were lower than the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The satisfaction in the combined treatment group was 89.66%, which was higher than 65.52% in the pelvic floor muscle training group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Electrical stimulation combined with biofeedback in the treatment of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction has a significant clinical effect, it can ameliorate the urinary incontinence, pelvic floor muscle strength and pelvic organ prolapse of patients, and improve the quality of life and satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
