In this article, starting with an ethical analysis of the practice of living organ transplantation, the author points out that it is improper to depend on living organ donation as a major source of organs. The author holds that proper handling and effective use of the dead organ can well solve the problem of organ shortage. Considering all the above factors, the existing ethical framework must be adjusted so that the procurement of transplanted organs could meet the demand.
