The Significance of Expression Discordance of ER, PR and C-erbB-2 of Fine Needle Aspiration Specimens Between Primary and Metastatic Lesions of Breast Cancer

Objective To explore the significance of expression discordance of estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR) and C-erbB-2 of fine needle aspiration specimens between primary and metastatic lesions of breast cancer.Methods Fine needle aspiration was used to detect the expression of ER and PR and C-erbB-2 in primary and metastatic lesions of 60 cases of breast cancer.And the expression of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 in primary lesion of 28 cases of breast cancer after operation was compared.Results The positive rates of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 of fine needle aspiration specimens in 28 cases of primary lesions were respectively 50.0%,35.7% and 53.6%,their positive rates of tissue specimens after operation were respectively 42.9%,28.6% and 42.9%(P>0.05).The results of all the 60 cases of fine needle aspiration specimens: the positive rate of ER of primary lesions was 56.7%,and was 41.7% of metastatic lesion(P<0.05);the positive rates of PR and C-erbB-2 of primary lesion were respectively 50.0% and 40.0%,and were respectively 41.7% and 45.0% of metastatic lesion(P>0.05).The total change rates of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 were respectively 18.3%,15.0% and 8.3%.Conclusion The fine needle aspiration of expression discordance of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 of between primary and metastatic lesions can guide the treatment and evaluation of prognosis of recurrent or metastatic breast cancer.
