| Abstract: | We analyzed the requirements of aging society, the features of elderly patients with severe disease and the current situation of education and training of medical workers. After that, we called for the construction of gerontology as the inferior subject of critical care medicine to reduce the death and disability in elderly patients with severe disease by drawing on the characteristics and advantages of critical care medicine. |
