Advances in research on the relationship between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and autophagy

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a chronic progressive lung disease,of which the pathogenesis includes chronic inflammation of the airways,destruction of lung tissue,and lung remodeling.Autophagy is a catabolic process in cells.A large number of studies suggest that autophagy is closely related to the occurrence and development of COPD,and this specific mechanism has not been elucidated.This article will review the research progress of the correlation between COPD and autophagy.
