中华文明观与大学精神

大学精神是在人类高等教育中形成的关于人的生存与发展的高层次的理念与追求，它引领着人文和自然科学发展的方向。由于人类对未知世界认识的局限性，特别是东西方文化心理的差异，使得大学精神在被解读时受到不同文化背景的制约，因此，近现代，以西方文明为主导的科技与人文的飞速发展，在诸多领域都埋下了威胁人类生存的危机。而博大精深的中华文明观，将“天人合一”理念贯穿其中，随着东学西渐的进程，将冲破狭隘的竞争思维，弥补以往对大学精神解读的缺失，人类可望进入一个和谐发展的新时期。

On Chinese View of Civilization and University Spirit

University spirit is a high-level belief and pursuance about the existence and development of human beings. It is formed in higher education of mankind and it leads in humanity and natural science. Because of the limitation of mankind to the unknown world, particularly the psychological difference between the oriental culture and occidental culture, the understanding of the university spirit was restricted by different cultural background. In modern time, the rapid development in science and technology and humanity has hided the crisis of human survival in many fields. The great Chinese view of civilization combines the view of harmony of man and nature with the university spirit. The exchanges of Chinese and western culture may make up for the shortage of the understanding of the university spirit. Humanity is expected to enter a new era of harmonious development.
